Description
Ryujinx was a free, open-source emulator for the Nintendo Switch that allowed users to play Switch games on their PC. It was discontinued in October 2024.
How it worked
Ryujinx was written in C# and was available on GitHub under the MIT license.
It was created by gdkchan and development began in September 2017.
By 2024, it supported over 3,000 games.
Why it was discontinued
Nintendo shut down Ryujinx as part of a crackdown on video game piracy.
The creator was forced to abandon the project.
Additional details
Ryujinx was originally a single-developer project, but a small team of developers joined later.
It was designed to provide accuracy, performance, a user-friendly interface, and consistent builds.
