German Goa pioneer

DJ Cosmix, born in March 1961, began his electronic dance music at the age of 30, after his India trip/Goa. While living in Frankfurt am Main, one of the largest European cities at the time of the techno usic, he got psychoactive techno, as well as rythmic and Moody trance sounds, to compile his first own mix tapes.
His career began in 1993, with the gig at a party in Berlin, during the Love Parade. He produced his first musical production in the same year, a few weeks later, with “X-Dream” from Hamburg. This is known as “Moondust E.P.” at Tunnel Records. the European transcendence scene was extremely popular and sought after. In 1994 he produced “Kumba Mela E.P.” with Etnica in Milan / Italy for Matsuri Productions London. Numerous other productions followed in the coming years.
Also in the year 94, he was invited to the turntables for “Voov Expierience”. He was followed by a lot of international appearances like Matsuri LabelParty Paris / London, Gaia in France, Return to the Source in London / Tokyo, New Year in Guadeloupe (FWI) Zoom-Streetparade / Zurich, “The total Eclipse” as well as the “Solipse” in Hungary etc.
His collaboration with the Earthdance of the year 1997 can not be left unexpected.
Earthdance is a global association of international organizers (in 2009, more than 300 events in 60 countries), whose goal is to combine the positive forces of modern electronic dance music and dance culture for humanitarian purposes and a global awareness of peace and freedom. The funds raised at that time were donated to projects in the exile area of the Tibetans in North India and
Cosmix was invited to a private study at the Dalei Lama in 1998!
Recently, Cosmix went back in the studio in Cologne where he works together with Phillip Trancefeld on his new production!

Klaus Drewing aka Dj Cosmix – a dear friend of mine has gone to a better place. I just talked with him a few days back. We had many good times together and also played at many awesome gigs together. I loved to visit him at Bodensee where we made music and had long walks talking about music, food (he and i shared passion for cooking), love and life. Last I hang out with him was in Copenhagen at the Overlords/Psychopod/Elysium concert. You wil be missed a lot old friend. R.I.P. Elysium official

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Klaus Drewing, known to so many as DJ Cosmix. 💔
A true pioneer of our scene, his impact on Psytrance and Goa Trance culture and the global underground community is immeasurable.
If you were raving in the ’90s, be it in Switzerland, Southern Germany, or anywhere in the world, you undoubtedly crossed paths with him, felt his unique energy, and were uplifted by his captivating and positive spirit.
Klaus was a master behind the decks, a wizard with vinyl, and a driving force in shaping the movement we hold so dear. His involvement with Return to the Source in the UK and Earthdance from its inception speaks volumes about his vision and dedication.
For many of us at BMSS, Klaus was more than just an inspiration – he was family. His artistry and passion influenced a generation, including our own journey into music. Today, we mourn not only a true ambassador of Trance but also a dear friend and Bodensee homeboy.
Dance with the stars and keep the cosmic frequencies alive. Your presence will be missed on this planet, but your legacy will echo through all dimensions. 🙏
With deep respect, thankfulness and condolences,
your BMSS Records family. ✨

RIP Klaus Drewing aka DJ Cosmix.

Along with the Kumba Mela E.P he did with a Etnica, together with Kristian (Elysium) track The Vision, with Volker Koenig and Chris Dekker (Medicine Drum) Trustafari. he will also be remembered for the famous mix he did for the Shamanic Trance series with Tsuyoshi and Mark Allen.
