William Leonard Pickard supplied ~80% of the global supply of LSD in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
As such, he is one of the biggest contributors to the psytrance genre’s growth – right when it was picking up steam and spreading throughout the world. A Golden Age.
This period coincided with the advent of psytrance in the U.S., where it has remained underground, and all throughout the Western Hemisphere – especially Mexico and Brazil.
No matter their nationality, all devotees of this music owe many thanks to this great man. Almost everyone I knew in that scene at that time took his LSD. It was everywhere – in liquid form, blotter, and Pez candies.
This is fantastic news, easily the best news for our community in over a decade. America badly needs good news right now. Sadly, I doubt he will get back into production any time soon, but there is always hope that his ideas will proliferate and we will someday get a new psychedelic Walter White that changes the world, again.
