Barring black swan events and perennial American stupidity:
-Trump releases Epstein files with any references to Republicans redacted. Makes everything worse. Lamest duck in American history
-AI bubble bursts
-Everything financial crashes
-Millions hungry and homeless
-Supremes rule Tariff Man unconstitutional
-ICE gets hit with a flurry of criminal activity and gets defanged
-Midterms go to Dems
-Venezuela/Columbia get invaded, become our Ukraine/new Vietnam with massive asynchronous guerrilla warfare
-**Dollar loses fiat status** – that is monumental in eroding American as a superpower.
-$45 trillion in debt. Default?
-Trump gets impeached
-Gavion Newsom wins POTUS 2028 by massive margin. As always happens the Democrats try to repair the country after years of hot headed neglect and mismanagement
– Seeing an opportunity, China invades not Taiwan but Siberia
-China EVs get sold in the US
-Tesla declares bankruptcy; gets bought by major domestic competitor. Cybertruck relaunches to great success.
-Bezos replaces Musk as world’s richest man
-Marijuana federally legalized
-Universal healthcare
-Ukraine joins NATO. Putin dies, replaced by a chastened old school general or apparatchik who wants to profitably manage decline; sells off nukes for personal enrichment.
-Chechnya, Dagestan, Karelia and many other former Soviet satellites become independent
-Center of power in Europe drifts eastward to Germany/Poland/Ukraine
-China continues to make low-cost AI models.
-AGI finally becomes a reality and makes life wonderful in the 30s until it doesn’t. Indeed, the fate of humanity rests on whoever’s in US/China’s government at the time this happens, and if they are willing to put safeguards in. If China invades Siberia and not Taiwan, there may be enough goodwill for this to happen.
-Apple falls out of the tree
-Nuclear plants everywhere, just as fusion energy starts to become more practical
