Willful ignorance about Coronavirus is nothing less than PARRICIDE – the act of killing your parents.
With that out of the way, let’s NOT be willfully ignorant, and consider the full range of Corona scenarios and prepare accordingly. Best case, it magically disappears!

Worst-case: There is no long-term immunity. The virus keeps mutating. America is its petri dish.
Trump permanently diseases America with a lethal form of herpes, and Americans permanently lose their ability to travel internationally. Venezuela, Gaza, Somalia, and North Korea all rolled into one.
The wall that was to prevent people from coming in, is now being effectively built by the world to prevent Americans from escaping. Canada and Mexico tighten their border security.
Americans start becoming Coronavirus refugees. Corona Apartheid. The superrich will be the first to buy their way out, then it will slowly trickle down until the only ones left are those who made this happen – left abandoned in a failed state, where the rich only helicopter in to survey their extraction operations.
Eventually, after all the more affluent liberal coastal elites – who are responsible for the bulk of our GDP – leave for Canada and Europe, America becomes a xenophobic and far-right shithole country. The alt-right dream of a white ethnostate becomes a reality. Prison population explodes. Pollution is everywhere. The Middle Class and the American Dream, long on life support, gets its plug pulled and the ICU gets sold for scrap.
Taking a page from the European conquest of the Americas, they send infected people to try to infiltrate other countries to infect them. Those runners are shot dead by multiethnic, multicultural World Government agents. Maybe these runners are happily repatriated into the clean countries, in a demonstration of the World Government’s magnanimity.

Just kidding. I wish it were that easy.
Trump transformed the GOP into an anti-science death cult, and now they are all snorting lines of Stockholm Syndrome. It really is all their doing. Changing it up would be nice, but they grievously wounded America with their ignorance. As usual, the adults, AKA the Democrats, will come in and clean up most of the mess, and the cycle begins anew.
But this may not be as easy a mess to fix as Iraq/Great Recession was by Obama, or, going back further, stagnant economy/record deficits, which Clinton fixed, or Watergate/loss of national integrity and pride, which Carter fixed.But the least we could do is change the guys manning the lifeboats on the Titanic. After the last 2 GOP administrations, I am truly terrified at what a 3rd would bring.
