When we die, most of us leave behind little more than fading memories, a tombstone, maybe a Facebook page and some random fragments on the Internet archive.
But when an artist dies, they also leave behind their legacy.
The value and significance of a deco artist can be summed up by the images on this page, such as from El Cuco Festival in Puerto Rico in 2000 (right), and Gaian Mind in the 2000’s, where David “Steve-O” Wyeth’s art is the most visible characteristic of the festival.
His passion literally surrounds everyone like a cosmic web. He touched thousands of lives.
Showing up before everyone else and staying well past the last person leaves, deco artists are the trance community’s unsung heroes.
Rest in peace Steve-O. Now, when we ask, “where is Steve-O?” we can look to the heavens, and our friends around us, knowing you surround us in a cosmic web.

I gave this song on CD to Steve-O. He told me he and girlfriend at the time would listen to it while… you know…
Some parties Steve-O was involved with; most are in Nantucket at the Muse that he did with Jamin. They must have gotten sooo many girls!
There’s also at the end some Goa Babies flyers in Boston.

And to close, Steve-O and Dan Covan:
I keep imagining a hypothetical afterlife where we are reunited with all those who have fallen, and we’re like pointing at different people going oh, he killed his mom…. he shot Remy in the face…. That guy tried to blow up New York… That guy strangled a girl on mushrooms…. This guy killed himself, those guys over there OD’d on opiates. This guy died in a shootout in a Kensington crawlspace all methed up.
Imagine a film, where in the end you see all these scenes back to back!
And it’s all dudes… dudes who went to fantastic parties, did mind opening drugs, and were often essential parts of the “family…” but they couldn’t handle the comedown, middle age, and the gradual ensuckification of everything.
But Steve-O will be kicking back, high-fiving everyone.
