Let’s follow this idiotic logic through.
If there really was a civil war, after millions dying, in 20 years North America would resemble the old East and West Germany. The flyover states/South would be closed off to the world with rampant social problems (drug abuse, gun violence, suicide, teenage pregnancy, etc – the same problems that it leads the nation now, but amplified), reinstated Jim Crow laws, subsistence farming, rabid redneck warlords, i.e. a modern-day East Germany/Romania/Bulgaria. The remainder, and both coasts, would be multicultural, globally-connected economically vibrant powerhouses.
And anyone born in the Red Nation who had a brain, a conscience, or was gay, Jewish, Muslim, feminist, or a minority who didn’t like slavery would move to the Blue nation.
The Red Nation would empty out except for a few latter-day plantation owners. And they would try to build a wall, and go broke. They would suffer mass shortages of doctors, scientists, computer people, lawyers, higher education, etc etc etc. They probably would have only meager access to the Internet.
Blues support the Reds, and could prosper without them. The Reds are the foot-dragging dead weights laggards, the crazy uncle at your Thanksgiving dinner with the MAGA hat.
I could apply the analogy with Israel/Palestine, Yugoslavia, South Africa or North/South Korea.
If you think I’m a dick for saying all this, I didn’t start this line of thought and make the unthinkable discussable, you-know-who did.
