Balancing classic trance sound design with ultra-clean modern engineering, Kri delivers tunes that are both functional dance tools as well as explorations of the heavy and dark sound that TOUCH Samadhi is known for. The foreboding “Device” opens with driving low end, crispy textures, and mounting energy, leading straight into the storming “Toffee Cake,” where scratchy FM leads dance above the bassline amid icy atmospheres. The vibe changes abruptly with the bouncy, funky bass of “Future Wish,” which features squishy leads and a 303-driven climax. Ominous moods return with the gritty, eyes-down stomper that is “Be Free,” which inexorably pushes deeper into chaos, before the cathartic “To Fly” closes the album with a steady robotic trip through pulsating leads and vocal chops.
