Israel’s recent bombing of Lebanon is a failure in strategy and morality, right at a time when they need to stop the hemorrhaging of American opinion.

A: Hubris, and greed.
It’s obviously a ploy to get American boots on the ground in Iran, because Israel doesn’t have enough boots to ever make that happen.

The truth is the US has no real interest in downing Iran. Israel does. And to ask Americans to bleed purely for another country’s interests is a bridge too far, at least in the shitty transactional framework America operates in at the moment.
Netanyahu is no longer acting in Israel’s best interest. He foolishly played his hand with Trump during a snake oil sales meeting a few months ago in the Oval Office – and it’s blowing up right in his face. Israel will now face a world with a very pissed-off Iran. And Iran is going to be stronger than ever before, getting help from Russia, China, the Houthis, and Hungary. America is going to start backing away step by step. Stuxnet, the Hezbollah pagers, all the Israeli blood spilt… they were all Pyrrhic victories.
It was all for nothing, and all the goodwill and benefit of the doubt in people like me has been squandered.
The sooner Netanyahu is gone, the better. He finally showed his true colors. He made a deal with the devil. Elections are coming soon.

And speaking of elections, also say a prayer for that weasel Orban getting vanquished in Hungary Sunday. Luckily, JD Vance tried to boost him, and ended up hurting him.
