1961-2024
Ken was an early Internet pioneer who advocated for the safe and therapeutic use of psychedelics, with an emphasis on culture. For many of us, he defined the psychedelic scene in the late 2000s and 2010s, overseeing the mainstream acceptance of psychedelics as therapeutics through the COVID era.
In 1995 he launched the web’s first multimedia music site and digital music store, Sonicnet.com, which was sold to MTV. In 2007 he cofounded The Evolver, and Reality Sandwich, of which Daniel Pinchbeck was often the public face. In 2020 he cofounded Lucid News. He also contributed to the New York Times, The Paris Review, and Wired.
Late in 2024 Ken died of rapid-onset sepsis from an infected cut. He had suffered from COVID which was probably a contributing factor.
Ken will be remembered for standing up and being counted.
