Moderate Republican Doubles Down on Threat to Work With Democrats to Elect a House Speaker if GOP Rebels Tank McCarthy

Trump would be their candidate. (Even though he and even Marjorie are supporting McCarthy, although Marjorie is just doing it to get assignments)

And don’t forget they’re gonna toss out their principles and “give George Santos a chance” because they need his vote.

So Republicans will have De Santis.

Biden would easily beat them both.

Also for history lovers, Newt Gingrich is worried this is going to be a repeat of the last bloodshed moment, 1964, when the libertarian Barry Goldwater crazies, who wanted to nuke Hanoi in the Vietnnam war, sparred with the “normal” Rockefeller Republicans and both factions lost to LBJ:

Say what you want about Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, but they made an incredibly united mainstream moderate and successful Democratic party that appeals to rational swing voters who hate chaos and identity politics.

The House GOP Self-Destruction

Republicans thought that their “let’s burn the place down” vote would give DC a much needed kick in the groin.
All I can say to that is…

It was only a matter of time before the snake started eating its tail.
Who is responsible for the chaos on the House floor right now? Yes, that’s right. Donald Trump. The people who voted for him six long years ago gave an AR-15 to a toddler who normalized indecency, rudeness, selfishness, and incivility, and taught his lackeys well:
IT’S NOT ABOUT THE COUNTRY OR EVEN YOUR PARTY. PUT YOUR PERSONAL GRIVANCES FIRST!
And undo it. We are seeing it now in the only part of government the Republicans control.
Control is probably not the right word.
How can they lead the country when they can’t even lead themselves?
A distant second is McCarthy himself. He proved the moment he flew down to Mar A Lago after the insurrection to kiss the ring that he is not a leader. He is Grima Wormtongue.
