The Boys: Why the TV Adaptation is Better than the Comic

Updated 2 years ago

Although I grew up reading comics, I can’t watch superhero shows. They feel too gimmicky – I get bored too quickly.
Maybe the gimmick just needed to be bigger…
The Boys on Amazon Prime is fantastic – a modern day Watchmen with intelligence and concept. Imagine if a company like Disney ruthlessly ran a K-Pop-style superhero celeb machine.
“The Boys takes the idea of a world where superheroes are real and follows it to the logical extension of superheroes who are human. They are flawed, messy, often egotistical, cruel people who wreak untold havoc in the guise of doing great deeds.”
Stars newcomer Jack Quaid, son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan.
If you only watch one superhero TV show, make it this one.
Even if you hate them. Especially if you hate them.
