I am done with AI and photos for the time being. Today I found out the service I used, MyHeritage, had recently enacted a hidden internal limit for AI processing of photos; after it is reached, you can’t enhance any more. So if you are considering the service for the AI, beware that at some point you will be left high and dry. Thankfully, months ago I had done everything but the kitchen sink – well over 15,000 friends and family photos – processed. New photos don’t need to be done so I’m good forever.
My short-lived obsession paid off. I cranked it all out just in time before they wise to troublemakers like me. I got my money’s worth, about a penny per image, so no complaints. But I doubt if newcomers will get away with that much from the Israelis.
Hopefully, due to the relentless march of capitalism and technology there will be more affordable (if not free) and accessible services that become available. I’m sure at some point they will pay YOU in some way or another. Until then I’ll look for an alternative.
August update: After a conversation with Shlomi I got my access back!
THANKS MYHERITAGE!
