“Socialism is bad, because you need capitalism so people can get rich, like in America!”
It is time to drive a stake through the heart of that statement, that somehow democratic socialism and capitalism are antithetical.
After gleaning the hard numbers, it is very hard to walk away from this talk without realizing America has become a dystopian, rigged oligarcho-kleptocracy built on a cruel, self-defeatist, mean-spirited system in which cheaters and white nationalists rise to the top, at the expense of how great a nation can really become.
It’s an especially poignant epiphany for me, a devout lifelong Randian warrior fighting socialism and communism:
