This message is for all who seek to eject Donald Trump. If you’re happy with him, cheers, but this isn’t directed to you.
For all intents and purposes, it’s over.
538 places Bernie at a 2% chance of winning. The only thing that can realistically make Bernie win is if Biden died this week of Coronavirus.
It is time for the far left to accept the reality that came to light on Tuesday, and maybe reassess how they spend their energies.
No matter how much you cringe at Biden – and there is stuff to cringe over, agreed, but it is 1/1000th of what Trump has to offer – if you want Trump to lose, get with the program. We all need to hold our noses and enjoy that shit sandwich.
Yes, it would be nice if we were able to insulate ourselves into our little echo chambers and be heard within a parliamentary system with a whole ecosystem of socialists, libertarians, Greens, Christians.
But we don’t have a parliamentary system.
Our bicameral system, along with the electoral college, is in many ways unfair as FUCK and favors the middle ground – but refusing to engage in it guarantees irrelevancy.
It really is “if you aren’t with us, you’re against us.” Play the game, or lose by default.
Unless there is some sort of Deadhead style “I need a miracle”/bird lands on the podium cosmic moment, Biden has it in the bag.
I already see the rage on my feed of the Bernie people pointlessly venting, angry they can’t blame anyone but the Millenials for staying home and playing video games on Super Tuesday, throwing as much dirty underwear at Biden, who is almost surely going to win, completely ignoring the long term ramifications of their actions.
So – we have a choice. Victory, or Nihilism – a bottomless pit of purity spirals and intersectionalism.
Let’s win so hard, we get sick of winning.
