In case you haven’t noticed, both Russia and China are currently both locked out of high tech.
Russia because of Ukraine sanctions (some spy was recently arrested in Estonia for trying to smuggle in sniper rifle ammo and microchips!), and China because Biden is a freaking attack dog with its teeth around their chip manufacturing capabilities.
Russia I can understand. But China? Sleepy Joe has been surprisingly go-for-the-throat. “Aggressive” isn’t a strong enough word.
It is also very good news Taiwan’s largest chip manufacturer is opening a plant in Arizona.
But biggest of all in the big picture – the news about fusion power out of California, and its implications for the next few decades, must REALLY kick them both in the gut – if they were smart and realize their situation, that is.
A whole industry that will be as big as Big Oil is starting to appear right before out very eyes.
To say the future looks very bright for American tech dominance in the future, is a huge understatement.

It all comes so fast.
Remember the 90s? It was websites, email and text bulletin boards
2000s – add in file sharing, phpBB (with images!) and social media into everything
2010s – add in fast streaming (so videos can be anywhere), web 2.0, Internet of everything, into everything. And smartphones.
2020s – add VERY fast streaming (high res VR), 8K-32K displays, and AI into everything, starting with images then video then audio (music)
2030s-2040s – 64K+ displays (not that you can see the difference!! Unless you are machine enhanced with an optical plugin!) ) add in full-spectrum, multiplatform Turing test-passing AI entities becoming ubiquitous using all the tools above, becoming replicable Internet celebrities (i.e. you have your personal Elon Musk, Steve Jobs or Trent Reznor at your creative bidding – but they are not just apps, but are their own people with their own bank accounts, rights and can argue back at you… and they can rent out android bodies to inhabit if they so choose)
Unless a vehicle, house, or machinery, personal technology largely disappears to the human eye.
All run on water (fusion power.)
2050s – Humans and AI entities often become increasingly overlapped until they are indistinguishable without extensive research.
