from a friend:
Here is an image i just generated in midjourney. im fairly confident that you and anyone else who might be reading this thread instantaneously sees that it looks like an alex grey painting. i used a very basic prompt of
“a psychedelic painting by alex grey –ar 2:3”
–ar 2:3 just specifies the aspect ratio.
now…no one is going to mistake it for a real alex grey painting thats for sure…but its absolutely an accurate representation. i mean…its obvious no?
but…is it? i mean? is it really anything like an alex grey painting? well if you pay any attention to it, no. but its still a pretty good image and if you like alex grey this probably is still somewhat aesthetically appealing. that is remarkably specific… what im saying your brain is doing 90% of the heavy lifting there. upon a closer look you see its chock full of mistakes and weird lines, all kinds of anomalies and such, its full of things that dont look right…and it still kind of works.
