We beseech Midjourney to conjure props from David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers(Graphic)
Gonna get weird here.
I’ve always been very curious as to how this would look and now we know! Sorry and a warning – this being David Cronenberg, of course this post will be a tad macabre.
In Dead Ringers, Jeremy Irons plays twin gynecologists Along the way, they date the same unknowing woman. One is square, happy, and an achiever. One isn’t, and starts taking drugs (I am guessing Ketamine) and steadily goes insane, entering a self-destructive spiral. He opens up an art gallery titled “Gynecological Devices for Operating on Mutant Women.” And uses them.

It’s always been one of my favorite horror films.
So back to my question: How would AI interpret how these devices would look?! A friend with Midjourney obliged. “Gynecological” can’t be used as a word, but he found a creative way around it.
Here is what it came up with:
The ones in the film are more macabre. They have more of a silvery Catholic ritual look to them, which fits the red robes. Think the cultists in the original Omega Man and Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
In comparison, the AI ones look a little clinical, professional. advanced, and clean and not from a disturbed man that would be forging creepy primitive twisted tools in his basement.
But still…. fascinating revelation.
