The earliest entries are brilliantly avant-garde and incredibly obscure. But I’m not going to lie. I think this list goes downhill in the late 90s. Most of the late entries are trash. Pop EDM designed for kids on Molly at Coachella has no place in musical history.
What is your favorite? Mine is from 1944, Halim El-Dabh at the :55 mark. Imagine hearing that on 10 kilowatts of Mackies under the Bridge at 4am. (Note, main video taken down on Youtube, so I included some similar, and El-Dabh’s video at the bottom)
