We GMO’d ourselves over a million years of trying to use tools, and developed opposable thumbs.
We GMO’d wolves into dogs, tiny corn into large edible corn. Etc Etc
Whether it’s done the hard way, through generations of breeding, or mutations, or genetic manipulation using CRISPR, the end result is the same.
One could argue that inserting genes is ‘too far,” but ultimately one has to ask, are you well fed? Do you live in a first-world country?
What do you tell those who aren’t, that your intuition tells you that the manner in which they eat to stave off starvation is unethical?
Should we retract the development of affordable nitrogen, developed in WW2, and let half the world starve to death in a month?
GMOs have been proven to be safe.
Vaccines work.
The earth is not flat.
Evolution is real.
Science is better than religion or emotion in explaining the world.
The primary goal for Planet Earth right now is getting Africa up to speed economy-wise, because all affluent societies stop pumping out babies. Africa is the laggard, but it is projected to peak mid 21st century.
After that things will be gravy.
