“I’ve struggled to put into words this post…
Once upon a time Anne Saturnia was among my closest friends in the the Psy community. She shared her home with me when I was in a transitional period. We were frequent party buddies, road trip friends, we worked in tandem on hosting and facilitating visiting acts to bigger events like Symbiosis. We even put on a few of our own events together. My first dabblings with lower BPMs and chill out were at her encouragement. She was as most know the queen of California Psy Chill. No one could craft a ethereal and melodic downtempo and chill set the way she could. Her bold look and personality just adding to the mystique.
Unfortunately we grew apart as I moved around the country and she fell from her path into a spiral of ever-increasing hard times and challenges. In fact, we had lost touch over such a extended period i often wondered back then if she was still among us.
She was and years later when she resurfaced it was not only a relief but a second chance to talk and reconnect.
Of course, it was never the same as this life teaches us you can’t ever go back.. but the pandemic and streams did lead us to back to hanging out in the digital space. Enjoying sets, talking about random things on PM and generally being curmudgeonly old Trancers.
Anne left us back on Dec 15. Due to family requests only now is it being made public. This has made for a heavy week for loss for my friends and inner circle and given 2022 a heavy feeling of entropy right off the bat”
RIP Saturnia
