For you old timers, remember back in 1990? It was all about the environment. Everyone agreed. Consensus on both sides.
Where did we go wrong?
I’d wager it was the pre-Internet era and fringe opinions just weren’t propagated, plus the advent of the burn-it-all-down Tea Party in the late 2000s that mushroomed into an out of control beast with the likes of Alex Jones and Breitbart.
Today is a big day as scientists march worldwide to push back against the wave of ignorance. In a world inundated with fake news, follow the peer reviewed science. It really is that simple.
Anything else – whether it’s from partisan web sites, lobbyists, PACs, all the way up to our president – is half baked opinion from people who don’t know what they are talking about. Expertise matters.
A true conservative would seek to conserve the planet we live on, the air we breath, the food we eat. A true conservative wouldn’t want to stick their head in the sand and recklessly gamble with our children’s future. And while I don’t agree ie with his socialism (we are not, and will never be Scandinavia, which, altogether, is about the population of Texas) Bernie is spot on about science and the environment. Now if his fellow lefties stopped their absurd attacks on vaccines and GMOs …
