Borders sealed. And a new mobilization announced. The vise is tightening.
Wow, they finally did it. Russian men are trapped like animals. They will go, and be obliterated, cold and drunk. Russian men lost their will decades ago.
In a way, this is rapid natural selection. Most of the good ones – the ones young enough to raise families – are already gone. The ones who got out in the fall are now so relieved they left – their part of the brain drain will join the growing Russian diaspora. The other white meat. The lucky ones will make it to the West, assuming national borders harden even more due to a massive refugee crisis. Putin wanted a refugee crisis, but I don’t think this is what he had in mind.
Putin wanted to restore Imperial Russia. Well, the return to Soviet dystopia is now another step closer. Russia is now an amazing recreation of Soviet Union, just with far less people, less economy, privatization, and Communist ideology.
As for privatization, Russia just needs to nationalize everything for the war effort, and I wonder if the steady decimation of oligarchs is paving that road.
If Communism was a person they would feel so ignored and left out right now. “JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE! I’LL BE BETTER THIS TIME!”
…and, naturally, a new mobilization January 5. More meat for the grinder. That’ll fix it!
What a nice Christmas gift to the men of Russia. (Orthodox Christmas is January 7 LOL)
This is much more a genocide of Russian men than it is of Ukrainians.
I wonder if the Russian people have figured out the reason why Russia is always lacking in manpower. “DUH I wonder where all the soldiers go! блядь!”
They are told they are fighting NATO troops. Haha if NATO was in Ukraine it would be night and day. There would be zero Russian ships in the Black Sea, every missile attack would be returned a hundredfold, and every Russian military base within 500 miles of the border would be vaporized.
In Putin’s mind, I wonder if there is any Sunk Cost Fallacy buried somewhere under the Restore Imperial Russia fallacy.
I predict he’s going to keep at it, until there is no one left, or he is taken out. I hope the one to do that is a mother of a dead soldier. If she can make it to his secret bunker, that is.
At some point, there won’t be anyone to man the borders.
