Platforms are private entities. America was built with strong private property laws. You do not have a right to trespass if the owners don’t want you there. “Facebook” or “Twitter” is no more a public space than Walmart is.
Being able to post things on social media is a privilege, not a right.
Problem: You want to freely post antivax/Plandemic crap and other things that get people killed out of sheer ignorance, standing on the shoulders of a tech community that is generally pretty enlightened and intelligent. But they censor you, because, well, you’re a dangerous idiot.
Solution: Start your own platform
Problem: You’re a white dude and wanna say the N word and talk about white power, and/or threaten to kill people, basically sticking your middle finger in the face of all these “West Coast liberals and foreigners” who built these platforms. People that you called “nerds” 20 years ago. But all these “SJWs” stop you at every juncture.
Solution: Start your own platform.
Problem: You’re a monkey, and believe that all these human beings with their guns and machines are too powerful. It’s just not fair.
Solution: Evolve
Problem: You have a leader who demands to be able to tweet out multiples lies a day on someone else’s platform.
Solution: Take away this favorite toy and keep him coralled in the Fox News/OAN/Breitbart ghetto where he is welcomed.
The “West Coast tech liberals” and the immigrants who helped them basically won. They won so completely that is actually hard to notice the forest for the trees. Many choose not to admit it. To fight it. And their only option is apparently to try to take a lesson from far Leftists and try to regulate or nationalize those industries like some Ayn Randian villain.
And if you think Facebook will be around forever I have some old friends named Friendster, Myspace and Tribes I’d like you to meet.
