I know I might be accused of being just like the Nazis who hung the “Kanye was right” banner in LA….
…but what has become of BLM needs to be honestly addressed without liberal white guilt poisoning the conversation.
There is much, much more than just a grain of truth here. And just because right-wing media jump on a vulnerability doesn’t discredit the concern. Once you go that route, you’re just a mindless partisan hack.
The concept of BLM started out good – but it became a scam. In the past several years, as scandals have emerged, BLM has begun to seriously damage the cause of black people in America. Note, obviously, there are still sincere and well-meaning people in the “movement” but the bad apples who became multimillionaires through grift ruined it all and squandered BLM’s legacy. Money attracts unethical people, and without any rules or structure, it’s a free-for-all. You can’t self-police a hashtag. And the scammers will find your liberal white guilt like a heat seeking missile and suck your dry of money and self respect. Stuff like this starts to happen:
And the tragedy is, racism is still very real. The murder of innocent black people by American police continues. BLM should step in, right? No. They can’t. They are too busy dealing with their real estate empires. Meanwhile, Ferguson never got a penny.
You know what that’s like, right? The Russian army!
It’s too late to go back and try to fix things. The damage is done. Now is not the time to circle the wagons. Now is the time to put the hashtag to rest – and don’t find a new one – don’t “rehash” a slacktivist Joseph Kony style-movement/organization. Just work within the system, much like the NAACP, the Southern Poverty Law Center, or the United Negro College Fund, all of which have much better membership procedures, quality control, integrity, and staying power.
Yes, Kanye was right. Tucker Carlson was right. Trump was right. Every despicable right-wing pundit who opportunistically jumped on this hype right was right.
So there is a silver lining in the court jester act of the despicable Kanye.
And black people will be better off for it.
