Lynching

‘He Never Got an Apology’: Death Row Exoneree Clarence Brandley Dies at 66

Clarence Brandley was a black janitor wrongfully railroaded into death row for murdering Cheryl Ferguson while I was in school in the 80s in Conroe, Texas.
The white killer who had confessed to friends who came forward is still alive and never prosecuted. This is why I believe many white Texans are more motivated by hatred than by justice, then and now. The Texas Rangers oftentimes served as a modern surrogate for the KKK.
Also learned Conroe was the site of a lynching in 1922.
So glad we now have DNA testing and the era of overt race hatred is over, but, let’s be honest, the ignorance and racism remain within innuendo and presidential race-baiting. There are many white people today such as the Alt Right that would support slavery and lynching and fight against desegregation and mixed-race marriages, if only they could get away with it. Of course, many won’t admit to it.
This is why all traces of confederacy need to be demolished.
