Originally from Amsterdam. Also known early on as Stikka. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I suspect he had some Indonesian blood in him, as that ethnicity is common in the Netherlands…. the lonely Dutch sailors trafficking spice like randy Fremen.
Synchro was a pioneer of the psychedelic scene in the 90s and early 2000s. His diverse style can be described as breakbeat-influenced psychedelic trance, with a touch of techno and funk. He also recorded with Growling Mad Synchro, The Xtra Terrestrial, Z to A, and Maroon, and as Three-State Logic.
In his prime in the 90s and 2000s, Synchro was generally regarded as one of the best DJs in the scene. He played many times in NYC. This website you are on right now, when its URL was brainmachines.com in the late 90s, sampled a loop of this track for its psytrance page:
He was recently scheduled to play at IT Athens on October 19. I chatted with Haris the stage manager, and they are deeply saddened, and made sure to notify his mother before announcing it publicly.
